Setup guide

Set up SynaMark in your tenant

About ten minutes, done once by IT. Everything you configure stays in your own Microsoft 365 tenant.

  1. 1. Before you start

    • A SharePoint Administrator, plus a Global or Privileged Role Administrator for consent.
    • Two Entra ID groups: SynaMark Admins (publish, settings) and SynaMark Editors (design).
    • PowerShell 7 and two Microsoft modules:Install-Module Microsoft.Online.SharePoint.PowerShell, Microsoft.Graph.Authentication -Scope CurrentUser

  2. 2. Consent to SynaMark

    SynaMark requests delegated permissions only. It acts as the signed-in user and has no access when nobody is signed in.

    User.ReadSign in; read each user’s own profile for their signature
    GroupMember.Read.AllApply signature rules based on group membership
    Sites.SelectedRead and write the SynaMark site, and no other site, once step 2 grants it
    User.Read.AllAdmin portal only: preview a signature as another user

    Use the consent link on the onboarding page you reach after purchase, or ask support.

  3. 3. Run the setup script

    The script creates the /sites/SynaMark site, grants everyone read access and your groups edit access, grants SynaMark access to that site only, and publishes a starter signature. It runs under Microsoft’s own Graph PowerShell app, so the elevated rights it uses are never given to SynaMark.

    Download both into the same folder, check the hashes, then run:

  4. 4. Deploy the add-in and assign licences

    In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings → Integrated apps → Get apps, find SynaMark, and deploy it to your licensed users or groups. Then assign seats under Billing → Licenses. Users without a seat keep their own Outlook signature.

  5. 5. Design and publish

    Sign in to the SynaMark admin portal with your work account. Set your brand, upload images, build templates, add rules and campaigns, then publish. Outlook picks up changes within an hour by default.
